The vast majority of new builds over 85' are power boats rather than sailboats, as evidenced by the far more numerous power yacht builders scattered around the world. Italy remains the dominant builder, with more boatyards and tonnage produced than any other country. The USA has seen an increase in orders the past couple of years as the dollar remains weak. The Northern European builders continue to produce some of the highest quality builds but there is much interest in New Zealand where innovation and quality are strong.
