GENERAL

Baltic 64

Baltic Yachts, located on the west coast of Finland, has been building semi-production and custom yachts for over 30 years.  Today, some of the world’s largest and most elegant yachts are produced in the same yard that created such lovely vessels as the Sparkman & Stevens designed Baltic 64 Triumph and her 4 sister ships. In direct competition with legendary Nautor Swan, located just a few miles up the road, Baltic strove to build a yacht of exceptional quality with superior performance and a beautiful interior with nothing lacking.

Triumph utilizes the dual cockpit layout, common on Northern European sailing yachts. The concept is simple and functional. The aft cockpit represents the working part of the boat, with steering wheel, winches, and instruments. The center cockpit is free of such things, and is a wonderfully contained place to relax, out of the way of ropes and sailing gear.  Her hull is of FRP sandwich construction of unidirectional Kevlar and fiberglass and epoxy resin with aircraft CK57 balsa core.

In 2000, Triumph underwent a major overhaul. She was hauled and a new bow thruster was installed. Her topsides and cabin house were faired and painted with Awlgrip. Her engine and generator were replaced, along with much of the accompanying machinery. New teak decks were installed and electronics were updated. Since that time she has been continuously upgraded and updated, results of a detailed oriented owner and full time captain, who both strive for perfection. Lifting any floorboard will reveal a spotless bilge. The interior varnish and floorboards glow like new from last year’s minor refit, including an interior refinishing campaign, complete rig inspection, and topside Proguard Plus treatment.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Pride of ownership, obvious to anyone inspecting Triumph from above deck, will be further appreciated when stepping below. The beautiful cabinetry is flawlessly varnished, giving a rich glow to the mature teak. Workmanship like this is simply not found on newer yachts, and is complemented by soft, off-white ultra-suede upholstery. Tasteful accent pillows and varnished floor boards complete the feeling of elegance, quality, and comfort found on this yacht.

Stepping down into the main saloon one is treated to the rich warmth of a full teak interior. To port ultra suede settees surround a perfectly varnished table. To starboard is the galley, the partially enclosed navigation area, and a separate sitting area further forward.

Aft is the full width owner’s stateroom with a centerline queen berth and seating on either side. There is excellent storage, with hanging lockers and numerous cabinets as well as drawers. En Suite is a large head with separate shower stall.

Between the owner’s stateroom and main salon is a stateroom with upper and lower berths and a head.

Forward of the main salon are two more staterooms. To port is the VIP stateroom with a single, large berth. The stateroom to starboard has an upper and lower berth. Both cabins share a large head forward. All the way forward is the forepeak, with storage for sails, tools, and the passarelle.

DECK

Baltic 64

In 2000, all the hardware was removed from the deck, the old teak decks removed, all holes in sub-deck plugged, surface faired and epoxy sealed. New teak decking was glued down. The result is beautiful, teak decks in excellent condition with most of the deck hardware upgraded. At the same time, all fiberglass surfaces were repainted with Awlgrip Matterhorn White.

NAVIGATION

Baltic 64

Triumph is fully equipped with a complete and up to date navigational system. Below decks, the forward facing nav station is at the foot of the companionway in a dedicated enclosure. The yachts main electrical panel is here, along with radar display, autopilot controls, chart plotter, B&G instrumentation, and custom shelf for an integrated laptop computer. Nearly all the navigational equipment is duplicated on deck in the aft cockpit. B&G depth sensor, wind sensor, electronic speed sensor, and sea temperature sensor were all new in 2001.
