With over forty years experience in all facets of the marine industry, Bob Steel continues his long and dedicated career as a member of Seaportal's elite team of professionals. Bob Steel has traveled the world over the past decade, including three Yacht Vision Marine boat building conferences, to stay current with the fast pace of changes emerging in design, materials, and build techniques. As part of Seaportal's promise to provide our clients with the foremost in yachting technology, he has toured the facilities of and maintains relationships with many of the world's top yacht manufacturers.
Bob Steel started his maritime career in the employ of Geophysical Services International, aboard the 112' Gulf Seal, surveying the Australian Coast including such diverse areas of operation as the Bass Strait, Perth to the Northwest Cape, the Great Barrier Reef, and the Tasman Sea. In 1969 he began his professional racing career aboard Kilroy Industries Kialoa II, and for the next twelve years worked running various offshore racing sailboats up to 80' in major races around the world. For the past twenty-five years he has managed a marine service and boat building company. His duties include management of all aspects of boat building, repair, service, and restoration. With such prestigious clientele as Nautor Swan, Trintella, Anne Wever, and Oyster he has commissioned yachts for owners and provided warranty work for builders.
